A description of our common ingredients can be found below....so you know exactly what goes into our products and onto your skin.

Ingredient Info: FAQ

SHEA BUTTER

Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa). Shea butter is widely used in cosmetics.

COCOA BUTTER

Cocoa butter, also called theobroma, is a pale-yellow, edible vegetable fat extracted from the cocoa bean.

MANGO BUTTER

The mango seed is cold-pressed to form mango butter.  It is highly regarded for its ease of absorption into the skin and emollient properties

STEARIC ACID

Stearic acid is a white, waxy, natural acid found in animal and vegetable fats.  The stearic acid used in our products is derived from vegetable origins.

PRESERVATIVE

Preservative is necessary in water based products.  We use Optiphen Plus which offers effective protection against bacteria, yeast and mould growth.  Most importantly Optiphen Plus is a globally approved liquid preservative developed for paraben-free and formaldehyde-free preservation.

SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), also known as caustic soda or lye, is a highly versatile substance used in a variety of cosmetic manufacturing processes and is often used as a pH adjuster. In soap, the sodium hydroxide reacts with the oils, turning it into soap. This process is called saponification and means that once you have soap, you don't have any sodium hydroxide left.

SODIUM LACTATE

Sodium lactate is a liquid salt that we add to some of our products. Using sodium lactate helps us to produce harder, longer-lasting bars of cold process soap. The product we use is derived from corn syrup using non genetically modified product.

EMUSLIFYING WAX

We only use vegetable based emulsifying wax in our products.  Emulsifying wax is used to combine oil and water molecules together and thicken the liquid so the product will not separate.

GLYCERINE

Glycerine is an organic compound that is a clear, odourless liquid at room temperature.  We only use vegetable based glycerine in our products.

TITANIUM DIOXIDE

Titanium dioxide, also known as titanium oxide or titania, is the naturally occurring oxide of titanium.  We only use small amounts as a pigment in some soaps.

MICA

Mica is the name given to a group of minerals which can be ground into a powder for use in beauty products. Colours vary between the different minerals, from silver and white to pinks and purples.  We only source skin safe, non synthetic mica and use it as a colourant in our soap.

BIO-GLITTER

As the name suggests, we only use Enviro Glitter, which is 100% biodegradable on our soaps.  All of these glitters are cosmetic grade made from sustainably sourced, renewable and responsibly-managed plantations of primarily eucalyptus trees.  This glitter contains no parabens, phthalates or phosphonates.
